The Temple is a place for everyone, and so is this website. We want anyone to be able to learn about the project, volunteer, get in touch or donate, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
01 Our commitment
We design and build this site with accessibility in mind from the start, and we keep checking it as the project grows. If something doesn’t work for you, we want to hear about it and fix it.
02 The standard we follow
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, the widely used international standard for accessible websites.
03 What we have done
- Keyboard: every link, button, menu and form works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
- Screen readers: pages use clear headings and landmarks, images have text descriptions, and form fields have labels and spoken error messages.
- Contrast: text colors are chosen to meet WCAG contrast requirements.
- Zoom and resizing: you can enlarge text with your browser’s zoom up to 400% without losing content or scrolling sideways. You don’t need a special plugin.
- Motion: the home page video and the image slideshow can be paused. If your device is set to reduce motion, videos and animations are replaced with still images.
- Sound: nothing on the site plays audio.
We check the site with automated accessibility tests and manual keyboard testing.
04 Known limitations
- Donations are handled on a separate donation platform, which we do not control. If you have trouble donating, email us at contact@2027temple.com and we will help.
- If the volunteer form doesn’t work for you, you can also sign up by sending us a message through the contact page.
05 Tell us about a problem
If you run into a barrier on this site, or need information in a different format, please email us at contact@2027temple.com or reach us through our contact page. Tell us which page you were on and what happened, and we will do our best to fix it and help you in the meantime.
